The athleisure trend is here to stay and I say thank you fashion gods for that! Athleisure is a comfortable and stylish trend that I love to rock on my way to the gym as much as on my non-gym days.
Still, that sometimes means I have to brave the cold in my favourite yoga pants just to get a workout in and let's be real, it's hard enough getting motivated to go to the gym. let alone having to deal with the windchill.
But don't despair, I'm sharing one smart way to wear athleisure this season!
Here’s how to rock the athleisure trend right now!
It's all about the right yoga pants
Did you know you can actually buy fleece lined yoga pants? I didn't know until recently and I was just looking for a thicker pair of pants to get me through the last cold months. Whether you're looking for a yoga pant to run errands in or to hit the gym with, try grabbing a pair of fleece lined yoga pants. They are super warm and tend to still be moisture wicking too!
Layer like a pro
After a workout, you’ll feel ready to throw a sweater on before heading outside, but don't forget to keep those legs warm too. An easy way to layer your yoga pants is with thigh-high socks. You've probably never thought of layering thigh-high socks over your yoga pants before, but I often wear my thigh-high socks on the way to gym and after I leave. Just be sure to take them off before your workout and store them in your gym bag or locker! This is also a great athleisure look to run errands in and keep warm.
Wear the right shoes
Whether you're commuting to the gym via public transit or driving, the right shoes are key. If you're like me and don't like wearing your chunky winter boots to the gym, then opt for a pair of platform runners. Platform runners help lift you up from the snow in a pretty on trend way! These aren't the shoes you'll be working out in but, they will get you to and from the gym without having cold or wet toes. Pro tip: Make sure your outdoor shoes aren't mesh or fabric. Save those lightweight materials for inside the gym!
