Trends; some people love jumping on them, others prefer classic pieces to transition their wardrobe from season to season. But what if I told you there was a trend that was versatile, chic AND easy to style? Well, there totally is and that trend is the pleated midi skirt.
The pleated midi skirt is the chicer and cooler younger sister of the pleated maxi skirt. No more covering those ankles and hiding your cute tights underneath! The midi skirt is here this Fall and it's flattering on almost every body shape. It's easy to dress up or down (just pair with a cute tee and Converse) and it basically comes in every colour of the rainbow. Basically, the pleated midi skirt is the one trend you can depend on and I'm going to share with you how to wear it this Fall.
Here’s how to wear a pleated midi skirt this Fall!
Start with tights
One of my favourite occasions to wear my midi skirt is for something festive, like a party. I paired my burnt orange midi skirt with, hands down, my favourite tights of the season: The Bow Back Seam Tights. These tights are sheer and so beautiful for the Holiday season ahead, and the perfect tights to pair with your midi skirt.
Add a blouse
For my top, I opted for a blouse with dramatic sleeves. I love its silhouette and how it makes a statement, while complementing my pleated skirt. Black is always my go-to for festive Fall looks and I think it pulls everything together. You could also opt for a deep v-neck t-shirt or a white button-up blouse.
Finish with classic heels
Finally, you can never go wrong with a classic black heel. I definitely recommend finishing off your pleated midi skirt look with a pair of heels to make you look taller and leaner. They’re the perfect staple to wear with your midi skirt all season long. If you don't like high heels - don't worry - try a kitten heel, which is also a super hot trend this Fall!
And don't forget, you can wear your pleated midi skirt in SO many casual ways too. Like with a basic long sleeve top and a jean jacket, or with a t-shirt and leather moto jacket. The options are endless, seriously!
