Putting an outfit together can feel a little daunting when you’re staring into a closet full of clothes. The fact is most of us don’t know where to begin or where to end to create the perfect look.
Fortunately, building a great Spring outfit is as simple as 1, 2, 3, 4, when you know where to start! Seriously, all it takes is a strong foundation piece and one on-trend item to feel confident all day long.
So, ready to create some great outfits all season long?
Here are 4 easy steps to follow to create the perfect outfit this Spring!
Step 1: Choose a wardrobe staple
Every great outfit starts with a basic foundation piece that women everywhere should have in their closet like a leather mini skirt, a white blouse, or even a great blazer. To build the perfect outfit, start by reaching for your favourite wardrobe staple (for Spring, I love a mini denim skirt) and build from there. Keep it simple and don’t overthink it.
Step 2: Add a pop of colour
Next, add a killer Spring pattern or pop of colour to your outfit. If you started with a basic mini denim skirt for example, opt for a blouse in a bold stripe and a cheerful hue like purple or pink to complete your outfit. Basically, you want to mix a basic staple with a fashion-forward piece for an outfit that makes a statement, but isn’t too over-the-top.
Step 3: Accessorize with tights
Never underestimate the power of accessories! I love to accessorize my skirts and dresses with tights especially come Spring. Try a pair of tights with a bold or subtle pattern to put the finishing touch on your outfit. A great statement bag or layered jewellery is also a fun way to express yourself and complete your look.
Step 4: Mind your shoes
Finally, for Spring, I’m all about a pair of statement booties. They can elevate the most basic outfit and take your look from casual to chic in no time. Grab a pair with a modest chunky heel, so you can walk confidently and you’ll have the perfect Spring outfit. Heels aren’t your thing? That’s ok! There’s now plenty of chic sneakers to choose from too. Just be sure to grab the pair that’s right for you.
