Spring is in full swing as is spring fashion! From boho to 90s inspired, the trends this season may just be my favourite yet.
Whether you're a fashionista or a fashion wallflower, I promise there is a trend for you and I have just the pieces you need to dive into the new season.
Here are 5 trend items you need this spring!
1. Mismatched & layered accessories
What's really hot accessories-wise this spring? Layering your necklaces and intentionally wearing mismatched earrings! This spring, opt for dainty accessories to layer rather than chunky ones. What's been extremely popular on Instagram is layering coin necklaces, as well as stone, pearl and initial necklaces. If you're dying to try something new, try wearing mismatched earrings. Mismatched earrings can be worn with a simple tee for a fun festival outfit. Give them a go and trust me, you'll fall in love.
2. Oversized denim jackets
Hello, it's the 90s calling and you can keep your oversized denim jackets! In fact, the 90s has inspired many trends this season and you totally need to try a few. If you’re unsure about throwing it back to the days of Boy Meets World and Beverly Hills 90210, then try a safe trend such as the oversized denim jacket. It's easy to style and will quickly become a closet essential.
3. Chunky headbands
Headbands and chunky hair clips have made a huge return this spring and I think I like it! The chunkier the hair accessories the better. No more hiding your bad hair days under hats. Try a printed headband or a pearl hair clip to change your style up this season instead. Whether you tie your hair in a ponytail or leave it in loose waves, adding hair accessories to your outfit is sure to amp up your look.
4. Graphic tights
Tights also had their 90s moment and it was graphic tights that lead the trends. For spring, I opted for a sheer tights option with a classic chevron print. They’ll easily add a touch of originality to any outfit and will give you an on-trend look in no time. You can also pair them with your favourite wardrobe basics like a denim skirt to quickly reinvent your go-to outfits.
5. Day sequins
Sequins aren't just for the Holidays, but for spring too. Whether it's a mini dress for date night or a cute tube top for festival season, sequins aren't going anywhere. If you're unsure on how to wear sequins for spring, pair it with a casual item like a denim jacket for a look that isn’t too over-the-top. This trend will also pair well with denim shorts and tights, or a sequin skirt with a graphic tee.
